Five tips to have that great hair day, every day!

It’s no secret that having great hair makes you feel better and more comfortable in any situation: for a work meeting, an evening out with friends, a date, or even just during your everyday activities. Your hair says a lot about who you are, and making sure it looks good is a struggle that men and women always go through. How to get that perfect hair? Of course, having perfect hair every day is almost impossible, but with just a bit of TLC the path to achieve will be much easier!

Here are 5 tips that will help you keeping your hair looking great every day:

1. Don’t wash your hair every day

It may seem tough to believe, but washing your hair every day will not do any good to your hair. Your hair needs its natural oil to shine and stay strong. This is especially true for longer hair, but it applies to everyone. Wash your hair no more than 3 to 4 times a week.

2. The kind of shampoo you use matters

When picking your shampoo, use a gentle formula that has natural ingredients (like aloe, green tea, plan oils or honey). Natural ingredients are less likely to disrupt the hair and scalp’s natural pH and oil balance, and will help hydrate your hair and scalp without damaging the hair cuticles.

3. Avoid two-in-one products

It could seem like a good deal to get a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. However, this is not a good deal for your hair and will not make it look any better. The purpose of the shampoo is to clean your hair and wash away the dirt, whereas the conditioner is meant to moisturize your hair and soften it. So, if you are looking to achieve that shine, frizz-free and silky hair look, stay away from 2-in-1 products and look for the ones that are more suitable to your hair type (dry hair, oily hair, curly hair, colored hair etc).

4. Avoid vigorous towel drying

Life can be very frenetic, and when you step out of the shower your first instinct may be to get your towel through your hair and vigorously towel dry it before getting ready to go out and go on with your day. But this is very harmful for your hair. Aggressively drying your hair will damage your hair’s cuticles, and the outer layer of each hair. It can cause your hair to fall, and will also make it frizz and decrease the volume. So, try avoiding this!

5. Get regular haircuts

Having a haircut is more than just keeping the shape of your hair or its style. Cutting your hair gives it strengths, gets rid of dry ends, and revitalizes your hair. Depending on the length of your hair you might want to see your barber every 2-3 weeks for shorter hair, or every 4-5 weeks if you have medium to longer hair. Your hair will thank you for that, and you will be able to tell the difference!

Of course, there are many more factors that can change the way your hair looks: the temperature of the water, the food you eat, the quality of the air around you and the list goes on. That’s why, making sure you follow those 5 easy tips will help you have better hair, every day!
